What's with the Lotus?

A lotus flower is a plant that grows in muddy water. The lotus flower means different things in different cultures but the main premises of the flower is that it has the ability to rise above the dark, muddy water into bloom and reach the light regardless. For this reason, it can represent hope, rebirth and renewal.

The the mud plays a symbolic role as a represents human suffering and all of the challenging and difficult things we face in life. The Mud serves as a life lesson, it is always there, waiting to teach us something, helping us grow from the experience, breaking free of its grip, blossoming as we do.

There is a saying that goes like this, "No mud. No lotus." And what it tells us is that we have to go through the difficult, and sometimes painful stuff to get to our true selves. We must, sometimes go through the darkness to get to the light.
